Accounting and Tax Compliance Manager

Are you a detail-oriented accounting professional with a passion for ensuring compliance and excellence? I am on the lookout for an Accounting and Tax Compliance Manager to join one of our clients, a growing team that prides itself on developing deep, long term relationships with clients . This role involves overseeing client financial reporting and tax returns, ensuring full compliance with accounting standards and tax legislation, and ensuring accounts are prepared and filed on time.

A senior member within the team, you will lead and mentor junior team members from the existing talent pool, fostering a collaborative team within this already high-performing environment.

The key responsibilities of this role are (although not limited to):
 
  1. Financial Performance and Growth:
    • Prepare and submit statutory accounts and tax returns to Companies House and HMRC.
    • Ensure all accounts adhere to accounting standards (FRS102 section 1A) and tax legislation.
    • Manage audit requirements and build strong relationships with partner audit firms.
    • Continuously seek ways to enhance process efficiency within the practice.
 
  1. Customer Engagement and People Management:
    • Set and communicate clear internal deadlines to clients, ensuring seamless communication throughout the process.
    • Collaborate with client managers to enhance the quality of client records, benefiting both clients and internal operations.
 
  1. Operations and Systems Management:
    • Prioritise and schedule client workflows efficiently, ensuring no late-filed accounts unless requested by the client.
    • Manage peak workflow periods and utilise quieter times for system and process improvements.
    • Adhere to all compliance and practice assurance procedures to maintain high standards.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Proven experience in an accounting/tax role within a Big 4 or mid-tier firm.
  • A customer-oriented approach with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office.
  • Full Accounting qualification (ACA or ACCA and CTA).
