Our client’s Alternative Funds Tax team provides tax advisory, transaction, and compliance services to investment managers and funds across various asset classes, including private equity, venture capital, private debt, hedge funds, real estate, infrastructure, and crypto assets.
The team serves a wide range of clients, including traditional asset managers, financial institutions, private equity funds, alternative investors, the real estate sector, wealth managers, hedge funds, UK pension funds, and global institutional investors. By combining technical expertise with a commercial approach, the team fosters strong, trusted relationships with clients.
As part of a broader Financial Services Tax team, the Alternative Funds Tax division works within wealth and asset management, banking and capital markets, and insurance. With ambitious growth plans, the team seeks an experienced, enthusiastic Manager with strong UK tax compliance experience to join the London office. While the role is compliance-focused, the dynamic nature of the alternative funds industry means exposure to domestic and international structuring, transactions, and advisory projects, alongside tax compliance and investor reporting engagements.
The Manager will oversee tax compliance for asset managers and the funds they manage, including trading corporates, trading partnerships, investment partnerships, and investor reporting. The position also involves collaborating with senior leaders to strengthen relationships within the existing and target client base. With varied responsibilities, adaptability is essential, ensuring an agile approach to different projects and stakeholders.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Engage with UK and international asset managers to manage their tax compliance obligations.
Streamline compliance processes, including financial management, billing, and debtor management.
Manage client relationships and assist in delivering solutions for standalone advisory projects.
Take early responsibility for producing high-quality client deliverables while deepening commercial understanding of alternative investment management and related tax issues.
Support business development through identifying opportunities within existing client relationships or securing new work.
Access training and development opportunities to enhance technical and commercial skillsets.
Mentor junior team members, contributing to coaching and skill development.
Work within a high-performing financial services team committed to growth and success.
Experience
Qualifications & Skills
Candidates should hold a professional qualification (CTA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) and demonstrate confidence in managing a portfolio of clients.
Preferred skills include:
Strong tax technical expertise, particularly in asset management.
Experience in corporate and partnership tax compliance.
Proven ability to lead projects with accountability and quality.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Familiarity with tax software and Microsoft Office applications.
Experience mentoring junior colleagues.
