Pure Search are working with a Global Financial Institution looking to hire an Assistant Tax Manager to join their team in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with tax filings for organizational entities, ensuring compliance with risk management standards.

  • Interpret complex processes, delivering accurate reports and anticipating stakeholder needs.

  • Provide support to senior tax managers, escalating complex issues when necessary.

  • Lead small projects or assist with larger ones to enhance business support.

  • Monitor and improve tax processes and systems, recommending enhancements.

  • Build internal relationships to understand business needs and provide relevant support.

  • Work with finance teams to ensure accurate tax and financial reporting.

  • Advise on compliance risks, ensuring the business is informed.

The role is paying up to 55k + bonus and is based in Edinburgh 2 days per week.

  • Advise on compliance risks, ensuring the business is informed.

Experience

  • Strong background in UK corporate tax compliance and accounting, particularly under IAS12.

  • Solid understanding of relevant legislation and applicable case law.

  • Professional qualification in accountancy or tax (e.g., ATT/CTA) required.

  • In-depth knowledge of UK Corporation Tax.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • Natural relationship management abilities, with a proven ability to analyze, challenge, and influence.

  • Curious and proactive in exploring technology solutions for team efficiency.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

  • Experience in preparing corporation tax returns and tax accounts (Compliance and Reporting focus).
