Interim Tax Director

12  month Interim Tax Director contract (possible temp to perm) to lead the tax function of a reputable UK media business. 

You will take responsibility for overseeing and managing the tax affairs of the Group, providing proactive and commercial tax advice on transactional and international matters across various business divisions of this international group. 
 

• Serve as a strategic partner to key stakeholders in the finance and group teams to stay informed about business changes and developments, ensuring that any related tax risks or opportunities are effectively managed.
• Work closely with business units to understand their specific tax needs and challenges, offering proactive tax advice to help the Group seize opportunities and mitigate risks.
• Lead the Group’s tax governance projects, addressing any unresolved queries from the UK business risk review process, and manage the annual Senior Accounting Officer review and approval.
• Supervise the review and submission of corporate tax returns outside the UK and US, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable tax laws, and provide expert guidance on the Group’s operational transfer pricing, especially for the APAC finance team.
• Handle ongoing tax audits and disputes, representing the Group before international tax authorities as necessary.
• Keep up-to-date with the latest tax legislation, regulations, and trends, advising the Group on potential tax impacts.
• Lead a team of tax professionals, promoting a culture of collaboration and high performance.

This is a critical role that will cover a transitionary period for the team whilst they recruit a permanent Head of Tax. Offices are in Central London and they require office attendance twice per week.
