Mixed Tax Manager

An experienced mixed tax manager is needed for a 12-month contract, starting in April with a fast-growing organisation, who will be responsible for direct and indirect tax compliance, reporting, and support M&A, integration, and advisory work. 

The manager will report to the CFO. The position requires 4-5 days in the office in Central London for maximum collaboration. Part time, 4 days per week is also an option.

The salary is dependent on experience, with a car allowance, competitive pension, and additional company benefits. 

Responsibilities

• Prepare tax disclosures for UK statutory accounts (FRS 102 and IFRS).
• Submit corporation tax returns using ThomsonReuters Onesource.
• Calculate and manage corporation tax payments.
• Calculate monthly tax accruals for management accounts.
• Complete group tax reporting and payment schedules.
• Prepare and submit quarterly Group VAT returns using Workday ERP.
• Ensure VAT process controls are effective.
• Document tax processes and complete checklists for SAO.
• Monitor UK tax legislation and liaise with Group Tax Department for compliance.
• Submit Country by Country Reporting and notify HMRC.
• Update UK Tax Strategy and get Board approval for publication.
• Support M&A and Finance teams with tax matters during acquisitions.
• Work on various projects to improve tax reporting and compliance.

Desired Experience

The ideal candidate will:

• Hold relevant tax or accountancy qualifications (CIMA, ACA, CA, CTA).
• Extensive experience in tax or professional services.
• Skilled in preparing UK corporation tax returns.
• Experience with consolidated tax disclosures for large groups.
• In-depth knowledge of tax compliance for large UK groups.
• Experience reviewing Group VAT returns (Workday familiarity is a bonus).
• Proven ability to collaborate with senior stakeholders.
