The Role
We are seeking a Senior Tax Manager to join our client’s private client tax team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in delivering top-tier tax advisory and compliance services to professional practices and their partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Management:
- Provide excellent client service, maintaining strong relationships.
- Review complex tax returns, computations, and payment schedules.
- Manage HMRC enquiries with support from the tax disputes team.
- Oversee compliance for large clients, ensuring timely completion of all requirements.
- Advisory Services:
- Collaborate with clients on tax advisory matters and lead tax planning projects.
- Assist in client meetings, offering strategic insights and recommendations.
- Monitor tax deadlines, ensuring compliance and managing HMRC correspondence.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Delegate tasks, review work from junior team members, and provide mentorship.
- Conduct training sessions to develop team expertise.
- Act as a coach, offering feedback and appraisals for continuous team growth.
- Business Development:
- Support the growth of the business through client engagements and fee proposals.
- Engage in networking and relationship-building activities to develop new opportunities.
- Participate in internal programs to build external contacts and mentor junior team members.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience:
- Significant expertise in partnership and private client tax, with a solid track record in a professional services environment.
- Experience managing complex client work and leading advisory projects.
- Proven ability in people management and team leadership.
- Skills:
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively liaise with clients and HMRC.
- Demonstrated business development acumen with an appetite for growth.
- Education & Certifications:
- Relevant professional qualifications (CTA and/or ACA).
- Strong IT proficiency and a commitment to maintaining technical knowledge.
