Tax Manager – Private Client

Key Purpose of the Role
You will play a central role in delivering high‑quality tax advisory services, working across matters that span UK legislation, cross‑border planning, tax disputes, and compliance support. With significant client interaction and oversight responsibilities, this position allows you to take end‑to‑end ownership of engagements—from first conversation to final delivery.
Core Responsibilities
Advisory & Technical Work
- Prepare clear, concise, and technically robust tax advisory reports across a variety of private client matters.
- Conduct targeted technical research into UK tax law, HMRC guidance, and relevant case precedents to support advice and planning recommendations.
- Provide input on complex tax return positions, including drafting white‑space disclosures, handling treaty‑relief issues, and assisting in dispute‑related technical analysis.
Client Relationship Management
- Act as a primary point of contact for clients, including global families and their advisers, managing matters from initial scoping to invoice settlement.
- Lead discussions with clients, family offices, and third‑party professionals, providing clear explanations of technical issues and coordinating service delivery across multiple stakeholders.
- Build trusted long‑term relationships through proactive communication and consistently high service levels.
Specialist Focus
- Play a key role in serving internationally connected families, particularly those with subcontinent origins or linked planning considerations.
- Support the development of thought leadership and marketing materials on issues affecting global Indian clients, contributing insights into the unique challenges and structuring trends in this space.
Team Leadership & Internal Contribution
- Mentor and support junior team members, offering guidance on technical development and helping shape their progression.
- Contribute to internal processes, quality control, and knowledge sharing as you grow toward a Senior Manager pathway.
Skills, Experience and Attributes
Qualifications
- Professional qualifications: ATT/ACCA and CTA.
Experience
- At least 8 years of tax advisory experience, ideally within a private client or entrepreneurial client environment.
- Proven track record managing complex advisory projects and diverse client portfolios.
- Strong background in drafting advisory documentation for international or high‑net‑worth clients.
