US Tax Manager


Reporting to the Global Head of Tax in Europe, the Tax Manager will leverage the support of external accounting firms to oversee all relevant tax matters for North America. Opportunities for growth will materialize in various areas, such as transfer pricing, internal restructuring, financing, and tax automation and technology.

Tax Compliance:

  • Oversee the external preparation and filing of all federal, state, and local tax returns.

Tax Planning and Strategy:

  • Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities while remaining compliant with tax laws.
  • Stay current with changes in tax legislation and adapt strategies accordingly to optimize the corporation's tax position.

Financial Reporting and Accounting:

  • Oversee the preparation of quarterly and annual income tax provisions, including calculation and analysis of deferred taxes, uncertain tax positions, and effective tax rates.
  • Collaborate with global accounting teams to ensure accurate financial statement reporting.

Tax Audits and Disputes:

  • Manage all aspects of tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities, working to resolve issues and disputes effectively and efficiently.
  • Prepare and present responses to auditors, supporting tax positions with documentation and research.

Business Partnering:

  • As the only tax professional within the United States, this individual will represent and highlight the tax interests of the business to relevant departments locally and globally.

Desired Experience

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or relevant tax certifications preferred. Minimum of 5 years of progressive tax experience, ideally working in/on behalf of global businesses Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements. Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Excel. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage a team and collaborate with cross-functional departments.
