James Baker

James is a Director at Pure Search, specialising in Risk & Quantitative Analytics in the Financial Services sector. As the creator and leader of Pure’s Risk Management and Quantitative Analytics team, he oversees a team of experts who help Financial Services clients, including Investment Banking, Asset Management, Hedge Funds, Insurance, and Trading Houses, with their hiring needs.

With an extensive and diverse track record, James has placed senior hires for a variety of clients ranging from Tier 1 Investment Banks to boutique Investment Banks, International and UK Private Banks, Large Retail Banks, Pension Funds, Systematic Trading Funds, and Consultancies.

James started his recruitment career in 2015 and holds a Geography and International Relations degree from Oxford Brookes University.

In addition to his professional pursuits, he serves as Social Secretary for Stonewall FC, the world’s most successful LGBT-inclusive football club, which reflects his commitment to diversity, inclusivity, and teamwork.
